How to Apply Our Edge Guard Tape

Protecting your pickleball paddle is easy with Azora Athletics Edge Guard Tape. Applying it correctly ensures maximum protection, a smooth fit, and long-lasting performance. Follow these simple steps to keep your paddle game-ready.

Step 1: Clean the Paddle Edges

Before applying the tape, make sure the edges of your paddle are clean and free of dirt or moisture. Wiping them down ensures the tape adheres properly and stays in place during intense play.

Step 2: Find the Middle Cutline

Locate the middle cutline on the back of the tape. This line will guide your application and help you evenly place the tape along your paddle’s edges.

Step 3: Start Applying from the Middle

Peel off one side of the backing, leaving the other side covered for now. Align the tape with the middle of the paddle and carefully press it down toward one side, smoothing it as you go to avoid air bubbles.

Step 4: Smooth Out the Sides

Once the first half is applied, smooth the tape along the edges to ensure a secure fit. Proper smoothing prevents peeling and ensures consistent protection during play.

Step 5: Apply the Other Half

Remove the remaining backing and apply the second half of the tape in the same way, starting from the middle and pressing toward the edge. Smooth it out carefully for a clean finish.

Step 6: No Trimming or Scissors Needed!

You're all set! Enjoy!

A Quick Note on Weight

Our edge guard tape adds a small amount of weight to your paddle. If you use additional lead or tungsten tape, be aware that this may affect your paddle’s balance slightly.

Final Thoughts

Applying edge guard tape is simple but makes a big difference in protecting your paddle and maintaining peak performance. With a few careful steps, your gear will stay in top condition for every match, tournament, and practice session.
